Ground Operations Specialist (Drone Delivery Operations)

Overview

We are seeking a Ground Operations Specialist to support innovative drone delivery operations through ground support activities, operational execution, equipment handling, and community engagement. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, following detailed procedures, and contributing to the deployment of emerging technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily drone operations by handling, organizing, and maintaining operational equipment, including batteries and related components.
  • Monitor operational airspace and surrounding environments for potential hazards, obstacles, or safety concerns.
  • Assist with inventory management, package preparation, and general warehouse activities.
  • Execute established operating procedures while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards.
  • Interact professionally with community members and respond to basic questions regarding operations.
  • Document operational activities, incidents, and observations using standard reporting tools and templates.
  • Support launch, recovery, and readiness activities for operational equipment as directed.
  • Work collaboratively with operations personnel to ensure efficient and safe daily operations.

Work Environment

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Schedule flexibility required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required based on operational needs.

Compliance Requirements

  • This position may involve safety-sensitive duties subject to applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
  • Candidates may be required to successfully complete pre-employment, random, and/or post-incident drug and alcohol testing where applicable.
  • Employment may be contingent upon satisfying regulatory, licensing, and export compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience documenting activities and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse, logistics, fulfillment, or operations experience.
  • Experience supporting aviation, aerospace, unmanned systems, robotics, or drone operations.
  • Familiarity with aviation terminology and operational procedures.
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate preferred.
  • Military aviation, UAV, or operational support experience is a plus.
