QA Sampler
We are looking for a Lab Technician to be the first line of defense for the quality of our packaging. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for initial visual inspection for our packaging components, and for transporting packaging samples to the lab for logging, testing, and analysis. Your workday will be active and take place primarily on our manufacturing floor. You'll partner with our warehouse team to access and sample various packaging components, including cartons, cardboard, jars, labels, and pumps. You'll then use a checklist on a mobile computer to conduct on-the-spot visual quality inspections, and bring samples back to our lab for final logging. A key part of your role will involve driving a company or personal vehicle to travel between our local facilities. Your performance in this role will be graded on your timely delivery of the samples to the lab, and the accuracy of your initial visual inspections. This position offers a path for growth, with the opportunity to indirectly lead the group of contract samplers by providing daily direction, priority, and collaborating to optimize the sampling processes currently
in place.
Qualifications:
- Preferred 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing facility doing visual inspections of components or products.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated high attention to detail
- Ability to legally drive a company or personal vehicle
- Ability to use simple tools and pallet jacks
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly
The Incoming and Packaging QC team is responsible for the assessment and disposition of raw materials, components, and finished goods that are received at Amway's various manufacturing and warehousing branch plants. The team is comprised of 11 full-time employees and 16 contractors who work in the lab to help support Supply Chain in their goal of the timely delivery of products to the ABO. The team consists of scientists and contractors who are involved in
sampling raw materials and components and delivering them to the labs for testing. In addition, the team is responsible for releasing raw materials, components and finished products in electronic inventory systems for shipment around the world. The team is a highly independent, self-driven group of professionals that are passionate about product quality and all the aspects that go into ensuring our ABOs get the highest quality product.
