We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support our accounting organization with a focus on Project Accounting and Fixed Assets. This individual will play a critical role in month-end close activities, accounting analysis, stakeholder engagement, and process execution related to capital projects and fixed asset accounting.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, highly communicative accounting professional who is comfortable partnering with business stakeholders, leading accounting initiatives, and driving projects to completion. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable analyzing data, preparing journal entries, and presenting recommendations to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting activities related to Project Accounting and Fixed Assets
  • Support and execute month-end close, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting analyses
  • Review project expenditures and determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Partner with business stakeholders to discuss project activity, capital expenditures, and fixed asset accounting requirements
  • Lead conversations with cross-functional teams and provide accounting guidance on project-related transactions
  • Perform data analysis, research, data mining, and issue triage to identify discrepancies and drive resolution
  • Monitor capital projects and fixed asset activity to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to accounting projects as needed
  • Prepare and present findings, recommendations, and status updates to stakeholders and leadership
  • Take ownership of accounting processes and help lead special projects from inception through execution

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong background in Project Accounting, Capital Projects, and/or Fixed Asset Accounting
  • Experience supporting month-end close activities
  • Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting treatments
  • Experience working within a mid-size to large enterprise environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
    • Pivot Tables
    • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
    • Data analysis and reporting functions
