Accounting Associate
Role Summary
The Accounting Associate supports general accounting and accounts payable activities by ensuring accurate processing, reconciliation, and resolution of transactions. This role operates within established accounting procedures and provides responsive service to internal stakeholders and external suppliers while maintaining strong internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and process accounts payable and accounting records accurately and timely
- Research and resolve invoice and receipt discrepancies
- Communicate verbally and in writing with suppliers to resolve issues
- Respond promptly to supplier and internal inquiries with appropriate follow-up
- Support account reconciliations
- Utilize office and ERP systems to input data, generate reports, and support research
- Support team goals, process improvements, and internal control compliance
- Perform other accounting duties as required
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or related field
- OR minimum of 1 year of general accounting experience in lieu of degree
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of accounting concepts, principles, and practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- Customer-focused mindset with strong follow-up skills
- SAP background preferred
Role Scope & Complexity
This role performs transactional and operational accounting activities within defined procedures. Issues encountered are generally routine to moderately complex, with guidance available for resolution. The position has no supervisory responsibility.
Internal Controls & Compliance
The Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting a strong internal control environment by complying with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards. This includes adherence to accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and proper handling of financial transactions.
