Machinist
Job Summary:
This is an exceptional opportunity for skilled machinists to join a technologically advanced powertrain manufacturing facility on the 2nd shift, contributing to the high-volume production of precision diesel engines and transmissions. In this role, you will operate and monitor state-of-the-art CNC and PLC-controlled machinery to produce high-quality components that meet rigorous performance and quality standards. Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor CNC/PLC equipment to meet control plan requirements
- Troubleshoot alarms, faults, and perform minor repairs to maintain production
- Record defects, rework, and scrap per non-conformance procedures
- Monitor tooling wear and perform tool changes to ensure quality
- Partner with team members on process improvements and error-proofing
- Train and certify machine technicians to quality and performance standards
- Review work instructions and control plans and escalate deviations as needed
- Enter production and quality data and review digital performance metrics
- Verify gage calibration and monitor critical characteristics
- Proactively assess equipment to minimize downtime
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality standards and maintain a clean work area
Skills:
- Positive attitude and alignment with company values
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment
- Computer literacy with the ability to enter and review digital production data
- Customer-focused and results-driven mindset
- Metal-cutting machining experience is a plus
- Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, and GD&T is a plus
- Experience operating production machinery is a plus
- Willingness to work any shift as required
- Ability to walk, sit, stand, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds, and perform reaching and head and neck movements for up to 10 hours per shift
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to noise, fumes, solvents, grease, oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Technical College certificate in Machine Tool Technology or a similar discipline is a plus
