Project Engineer III
Electrical Engineer/Project Manager
Location: Salem, SC. Bad Creek Hydro
Contract: Thru July 2027 to start
- Day to day activities will include scoping generator rewinds and replacements, complete electrical life extensions for hydro stations. This role will be fully accountable for the scoping, planning, design, procurement, implementation, and commissioning of electrical projects ranging from $5M - $100M.
- Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of routine problems in area of expertise.
- Assists in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities under the guidance of higher-level employees.
- Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches associated with the resolution of routine technical problems.
- Partner with Project Managers to define technical needs for capital projects
- Troubleshooting and scoping work across the PM portfolio
- Identify issues and outline what needs to be repaired or upgraded
- Work concurrently with up to 15 Project Managers
- Electrical/Hydro group supports approximately 90 projects
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 11 years of project management experience.
- Graduation from a four-year college or university.
- Expert in project management principles.
- Expertise to Strong Expertise in Project Management, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving; Project related work experience; Risk Management; Leadership; Employee Management/Development; Oversight.
- PE license
Electrical Engineering background
- Electrical Engineering degree strongly preferred
- Power plant / hydro experience is critical
