Job Description
A growing design and construction organization is seeking an organized, innovative, collaborative, and forward‑thinking Civil Designer I to support site development projects. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

To Be Successful in This Role

• Strong mathematical background with a solid understanding of civil engineering principles (e.g., hydrology, grading).
• Demonstrated interest in site development.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, development teams, construction teams, and external consultants to develop coordinated construction documentation.
• Assist in producing complete and accurate site design documents that align with project goals, schedules, and milestones.
• Support site design and plan preparation, including:
  • Site layouts
  • Grading plans
  • Stormwater management
  • Erosion control
  • Utility layouts
• Participate in site design, consultant, and project team meetings.
• Gather background site data using publicly available and online resources.
• Assist in analyzing site constraints and existing conditions.
• Support zoning code review and research of applicable regulatory and agency requirements.
• Perform foundational CAD drafting tasks and basic engineering calculations.
• Apply fundamental design principles to solve routine problems.
• Seek guidance when addressing unfamiliar or complex issues.
• Perform work with a high degree of collaboration and attention to detail.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and ongoing professional development.
• Establish and pursue annual personal and professional development goals aligned with project and organizational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Approximately 1+ years of relevant site development or civil design experience.
• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) exam.
• LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) designation.
