Workday System Analyst
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
- Respond to and triage Workday‑related issues reported by end users.
- Identify trends in recurring problems and proactively address systemic issues.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and lead cross‑functional efforts to develop and implement solutions.
- Make system updates and configuration changes in alignment with established governance processes.
- Coordinate and negotiate timelines with internal technical teams, external partners, and business stakeholders.
System Monitoring & Performance
- Continuously monitor system performance to identify potential gaps, risks, or inefficiencies.
- Resolve or mitigate system issues to ensure functionality meets evolving business needs.
- Assess impacts to integrations and collaborate with affected teams to ensure smooth operation.
- Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance overall system performance.
Upgrades, Enhancements & Testing
- Evaluate upcoming system releases or functional changes from an end‑to‑end business perspective.
- Proactively identify potential impacts or risks and lead efforts to implement mitigations.
- Recommend new features or functionality that improve operations, efficiency, or user experience.
- Execute and support testing cycles, ensuring changes are validated prior to deployment.
Reporting & Analytics
- Design and develop advanced reports, dashboards, and analytical tools within Workday.
- Identify innovative ways to deliver data that supports decision‑making and process optimization.
- Collaborate with teams to define reporting requirements and enable self‑service capabilities.
Consultation & Business Partnership
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Workday functionality and best practices.
- Partner with end users, stakeholders, and centers of expertise to understand needs and recommend solutions.
- Lead initiatives to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and deliver measurable business improvements.
- Ensure that proposed system or process changes are fully understood and effectively adopted by users.
- Provide guidance that strengthens user capabilities and promotes effective utilization of system functionality.
Education, Experience & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field - or equivalent experience.
- Typically 3-5 years of hands‑on experience working with Workday in a systems, functional, or technical capacity.
Desired Skills:
Functional Knowledge
- Understanding of system configuration, application development concepts, and relational databases.
- Familiarity with operational processes within HR, finance, or related business units.
- Ability to analyze and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Technical Skills
- Experience with Workday configuration, reporting, integrations, or system administration.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to identify and evaluate upstream/downstream impacts across modules and processes.
