Linux Software Support Engineer/Validation

San Jose, CA 95110 (Onsite every day - No remote work)

Local ONLY

  • Conduct software data validation, integration, monitoring and troubleshooting with provided tools
  • Support software feature quality assurance, roll-out process, training and user support
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues involving various network protocols, including debugging HTTP API requests and responses
  • Use tools like cURL, Postman, or similar for testing, validating, and simulating HTTP interactions (e.g., GET/POST requests, handling authentication, headers, and payloads)
  • Manage and operate Linux-based systems, including running commands for system monitoring (e.g., top, ps, df), file management (e.g., ls, cp, mv), process control (e.g., kill, systemctl), and scripting basic automation tasks * Support software deployment, configuration, and maintenance in Linux environments, such as setting up servers, installing packages via apt/yum, and configuring services like Apache/Nginx

Service Qualification/Requirement

  • BS of computer science or relevant engineering degree
  • Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, including status codes, methods, headers, and common issues like CORS or SSL errors.
  • Proficiency with API tools: Hands-on experience with cURL for command-line requests and Postman for GUI-based testing and automation. * Linux expertise: Comfortable with distributions like Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat; able to execute commands for navigation, administration, and troubleshooting (e.g., bash scripting, vim/nano editing, cron jobs).
  • Execute predefined test cases to verify software functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Perform manual testing to identify defects, bugs, or inconsistencies in the software.
