We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics/Inverter engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our utility-scale
renewable energy team. This role is critical to ensuring successful commissioning, testing, and operational readiness of
utility-scale inverter systems for solar, battery energy storage (BESS), and hybrid renewable energy projects. The ideal
candidate will combine deep technical expertise in power electronics with hands-on commissioning experience and strong
project management capabilities.

Electronics/Inverter engineer ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient operation of transmission-level SCADA and inverter
applications during commissioning.

Remote with frequent trips to Juno Beach Fl.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Lead factory integration testing (FIT) for utility-scale inverters (1MW+ capacity) ensuring comprehensive pre-
deployment validation
* Execute and support site acceptance testing (SAT) including functional, performance, and grid compliance testing
protocols
* Perform comprehensive commissioning of inverter control systems and power electronics components
* Manage inverter startup sequencing and initial energization procedures following safety protocols
* Diagnose inverter faults and failures using proprietary OEM software tools and advanced diagnostic techniques
* Coordinate and witness all required Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Large Generator Interconnection Agreement
(LGIA), and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) testing until passing criteria are met prior to Commercial Operation
Date (COD)
* Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for grid compliance, performance validation, and safety verification
* Ensure all testing meets utility standards, regulatory requirements, and NextEra Energy specifications
* Document test results and provide detailed technical reports for regulatory and commercial stakeholders
* Collaborate closely with SCADA teams to analyze inverter control systems and communication protocols
* Review, create, and optimize inverter parameter models for various project types including commercial, industrial, and
generation facilities
* Support remote connectivity and monitoring system integration
Provide technical expertise for SCADA HMI development and data point configuration
* Develop and manage deployment procedures, quality control protocols, and warranty management processes
* Proactively identify potential technical issues and implement corrective actions to prevent project delays
* Coordinate with multiple stakeholders including OEMs, contractors, utilities, and internal teams
* Manage project timelines and ensure deliverable quality meets NextEra Energy standards
* Connect remotely to inverter software systems for diagnostics, parameter adjustments, and performance optimization
* Provide remote technical support during commissioning and operational phases
* Develop and maintain remote access protocols and cybersecurity compliance procedures
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related technical field
* 1+ years of experience in power electronics and utility-scale inverter systems
*Experience with advanced inverter functions (volt-var control, frequency response, grid forming)
* Strong understanding of power system operations, SCADA, and EMS applications (SE, CA, OPF).
* Hands-on experience with network, telemetry mapping, and database management.
* Familiarity with ICCP/TASE.2, RTU protocols.
* Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., NERC CIP).
* knowledge of process control commissioning and troubleshooting.
* Ability to understand electrical schematics and drawings.
* Review drawings packages and OEM specifications versus installed equipment to confirm it meets design and
manufacturer standards.
* Ability to understand SCADA and communication schematics and drawings.
* Knowledge of automation protocols (Modbus, DNP3, CAN, OPC, EtherNet/IP and others)
* Third party firm management
* Schedule and planning understanding
* Strong analytical skills, problem-solving
