Service Technician - DC Power (Level II)

Phoenix, AZ (travel)

Level 2 Technician: $27.00-$30.00/hr. ($56k - $62.4k/yr.)

Overview:

A leading provider in the communications and industrial environment, is seeking a highly motivated Service Technician to perform a variety of installation and maintenance tasks. The Service Technician (Level II) must be able to perform job duties of an installer in a communications and industrial environment. Have a general understanding of the DC Power industry as it relates to the three primary markets served (Telecom, UPS, and Utility). This position requires frequent travel on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Install batteries, rectifier battery plants (all voltages), ironwork, and cable racks.
  • Upgrade and replace DC power plants, primary and secondary distribution equipment.
  • Run power cables, crimp lugs, and perform lacing.
  • Take voltage and gravity readings.
  • Work on AC power systems.


Work Environment:

  • You will travel to various locations and work in diverse conditions, including remote, primitive, and outdoor environments.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.


Qualifications:

  • 2 yrs. of DC Power, field experience.
  • Understand how lead-acid batteries function.
  • Interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Possess strong mechanical and communication skills.
  • Cable lacing experience.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Possess the strength and dexterity to use various hand and power tools.
