Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Engineering Leadership

  • Shape and drive the organization's technology vision, ensuring it's effectively implemented across your areas of ownership.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement-identify architectural enhancements, propose and prototype solutions, gather feedback early, and document thoroughly to gain alignment.
  • Lead architectural design with a strategic mindset, balancing long-term scalability with near-term delivery needs.
  • Elevate engineering standards by introducing practices that enhance team velocity, code quality, and delivery consistency.
  • Create and maintain high-quality documentation, including Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), design review materials, and internal wikis to support team learning and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with architects across domains to ensure cohesive and aligned architectural strategies.

Project Execution

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of major initiatives, from design through development and testing.
  • Partner with product managers, engineering leads, and cross-functional teams to execute on the product and technology roadmap.

Mentorship & Team Growth

  • Support the growth of peers through mentorship, pair programming, design/code reviews, and collaborative events like hackathons.
  • Play a key role in hiring by setting a high bar for technical excellence and cultural fit.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing and building large-scale, high-performance distributed systems and APIs serving millions of users.
  • Advanced programming expertise in Java or Scala, and JavaScript; strong familiarity with GraphQL.
  • Demonstrated ability to tackle complex technical challenges and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Skilled at aligning technical direction with senior stakeholders, especially in ambiguous or evolving problem spaces.
  • Experience developing and promoting reusable technical patterns that uplift engineering practices across teams.
  • Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to navigate differing perspectives and drive progress.
  • Passionate about mentoring and developing others.
  • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 12+ years in software design and development.
