Overview:
We're seeking a Construction Site Manager to oversee all onsite activities for an upcoming industrial construction project located in Merritt Island, FL. This position will work closely with the project management, engineering, and production teams to coordinate efforts and ensure the project is completed safely, on schedule, and in alignment with all quality and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary onsite lead, managing day-to-day construction activities
- Conduct daily safety briefings and issue Hazardous Work Permits
- Coordinate activities with the Prime Contractor's Site Superintendent
- Review contractor Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Oversee quality assurance and manage documentation of inspections and testing (e.g., NDE, hydrostatic testing, radiography)
- Monitor project progress, identify construction issues, and propose/implement solutions
- Enforce adherence to safety codes, building regulations, and contract documents
- Maintain and update scope of work, drawings, and construction records
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to keep the project on schedule
- Conduct pre-startup inspections and maintain pre-startup checklists
- Report project status and risks to leadership on a regular basis
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Industrial Construction experience required (industrial gas experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, contracts, and construction schedules
- Familiarity with building codes and OSHA safety regulations (OSHA 10 or 30 preferred)
- Experience in QA/QC inspections and field-testing methods
- Experience with cryogenics, liquid nitrogen systems, or high-pressure piping/tubing is a strong plus
Education:
- 2-4 years of higher education preferred (technical or engineering discipline ideal)
Work Environment:
- Onsite role working from a plant office and in outdoor construction settings
- Required PPE includes hard hat, safety-toed boots, safety glasses, and FRC gear
