Business Area & the role
You will enjoy a global team on the first line in the definition of the Taste Consumer Experience on the way to make sustainable eating the preferred choice. As food technologist You will ensure testing of key performance functionality, compliance with technical standards. You will translate input of consumer needs into technical solution. Provide performance improvements and proposals. You will be key in developing new innovations allowing consumers to experience high level meals at home.
Job responsibilities
- Translate consumer needs in to project sepcification
- Develop new cooking features and or service functionalities.
- Support internal and external events (cooking demo or consumer events)
- Collaborate in the creation of test plan
- Execute testing
- Provide test report, documentation and presentation of results to relevant stakeholder
- Consider required inputs in testing process:
- Company targets on Taste and Sustainability
- National and international use-cases according to internal/external standards and projects scope
- International standards, consumer association standards and internal test manuals
- Feature performance (e.g. steam generator duty cycle, microwave evenness distribution)
- Ensure alignment on test methodologies with other laboratories and relevant test institutes
- Develop new test and evaluation methodologies
- Support Platforms, Product Cares and the other technologies and laboratories in relevant testing (e.g. product lifetime, cost & quality activities, benchmark activities).
- Bring cooking trends and innovation to the home comsumer cooking appliances.
- Propose ideas to be potentially patented
- Provide improvement proposals in the Way of Working
- Ensure compliance with work environment and safety regulations.
- Ensure job compliance with regulations and quality audits
- Link global test methodologies approach to local Taste definition
- Approach in a sustainable way both development and way of working
- Create recipes to showcase the product features.
- Collaborate with business partner such as Universities, external laboratories, Taste experts and other chefs
Reporting to: Cooking Science Laboratory Manager
Competencies
- ENERGY - Deliver test results according to test procedure and test plan in order to ensure
cooking performance development compliant with project targets.
Manage own activities following manager guidance or project leaders request. Approach and challenge daily work with continuous improvement mindset
- OPENESS - Focus on consumer needs, identify opportunities, catch the inputs from other departments in order to ensure the most wide approach to the development.
Ensure continuous feedback sharing to your colleagues, foster alignment on procedure and results in order to increase competence and knowledge - AGILITY - Reacts positively to new unknown or ambiguous situations and adapts accordingly with strong structured and engineering approach during each development phase.
- GROWTH - Understand consumer needs and business opportunities in order to propose solution to elevate Taste experience, approaches and solutions to problems. Bring innovation, based on consumer insight. Provides positive support to allow peers to improve continuously.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor in Food Science preferred, Technology, Engineering, or Culinary accepted.
- Knowledge of Food related standards.
- Knowledge in food transformation related to cooking proceses
- Testing methodologies (DOE, statistical methodologies,…) preferred
- 6sigma Green Belt is a plus
Experience and Skill Requirements
- Experience in preparation and cooking of food.
- Food Testing and evaluation.
- Experience in food or appliance industry
- Open minded. You appreciate the privilege of working in an international environment, global team and are respectful of different cultural backgrounds.
- Basic knowledge of electrical laboratory and test execution
- Ability to work in a matrix organization including remote interaction
- Product/food demonstration and public speaking skills.
- Ability to conduct a meeting
- Technical report writing skills.
- Proficient on Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word
- Chef or restaurant experience is a plus
