Junior Systems Administrator
Position Summary: Systems Administrator
We're looking for a skilled and service-driven Systems Administrator to lead and support enterprise IT operations in a dynamic, security-conscious environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-ownership positions, enjoys building and refining systems, and takes a proactive approach to infrastructure, automation, and end-user support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments, including desktops, servers, and network systems.
- Administer Active Directory and Azure AD for user provisioning, access control, and group policy management.
- Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 applications (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive) and Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
- Use endpoint management tools such as Intune and JAMF to maintain device compliance and performance.
- Automate routine tasks and workflows using PowerShell or Bash scripting.
- Maintain and optimize both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including Azure services and Azure Data Factory.
- Monitor and resolve security issues using Microsoft 365 Security Center and Tanium.
- Oversee IT asset lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment, support, inventory tracking, and decommissioning.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to documentation and internal training efforts.
- Participate in on-call rotations and perform scheduled after-hours maintenance as needed.
- Troubleshoot network issues (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) to ensure stable and secure connectivity.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in systems administration or enterprise desktop support.
- Hands-on experience with IT asset management, procurement, and vendor coordination.
- Strong technical proficiency in Windows, Linux, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Solid experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, and identity/access management tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, JAMF, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Azure Data Factory.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash for automation.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and endpoint security practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and customer service skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to work fully onsite in San Mateo, CA.
