Process Engineer
Description:
Under limited direction, align with business process leaders across the organization to lead business process improvement initiatives which ensure the organization meets its customer satisfaction and cost reduction goals.Responsible for teaching a wide range of core Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma tools in both formal and informal settings. This will include hands-on training of management and front-line employees in methods for reducing variation and measurement error
Promotes a continuous improvement minded culture within the laboratory network operation
Ensures the product and process improvement with internal and customer requirements and ensures alignment with industry standards
Develops processes and procedures and simplifies complex processes to assist the organization in achieving cost saving goals. Proactively identifies areas to enable the organizations shift toward process intervention. Oversees the implementation and effective deployment of continuous improvement process and procedure changes.
Establish measurable metrics to integrate Lean Manufacturing & 6 Sigma methodologies with business drivers
Promotes standardization of quality process and systems within the business
Prepares and controls Continuous Improvement related budgets and expenses
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, or related degree or equivalent experience
Certified 6 Sigma or Lean Sigma Black Belt and a Lean Manufacturing practitioner
4+ years of experience working in a Continuous Improvement capacity
In depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principle and tools with the ability to implement these tools in the manufacturing environment
Superior knowledge of operations processes, mechanical engineering, data analysis, interpretation, and Continuous Improvement principles
Demonstrated experience in training on a wide range of core Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, and SPC tools in both formal and informal settings to all levels of employee
Working knowledge of process improvement and problem-solving techniques
Demonstrate exceptional negotiation, motivating, planning and, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Minitab 17, descriptive statistics, word processing, flowcharts, and spreadsheet applications
Excellent interpersonal skills to foster cooperation amongst business partners and coordinate internal as well as external resource/workload
Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment the in performance of his/her job duties
