Lead DC Power Technician

Experience Required:
**4-6 Years in DC Power (Telecom, UPS, Utilities)
We are seeking an experienced DC Power Technician to join our team in Phoenix. In this role, you will lead field operations, manage complex installations, ensure compliance with safety standards, and mentor fellow technicians. Your expertise will support critical infrastructure for clients in the telecom, UPS, and utility sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install batteries and rectifier plants across all voltage levels, ensuring they meet industry and customer specifications.
- Execute ironwork and cable rack installations in Zone 4 environments with specialized knowledge and precision.
- Maintain and test DC power systems, including Power Distribution Boards (PBDs), Battery Distribution Fuse Bays (BDFBs), and Battery Disconnect Circuit Breaker Bays (BDCBBs). Perform diagnostics, such as load tests, voltage and gravity readings, and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage DC power plant upgrades and replacements, ensuring smooth integration with minimal disruption.
- Install, crimp, lace, and manage power cables to ensure optimal connectivity and functionality.
- Prepare test reports, Method of Procedure (MOP) documents, and maintain accurate records.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, handling inquiries, providing updates, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Work with AC power systems (120V single-phase to 480V three-phase) while upholding strict safety and compliance standards.
- Oversee job sites, inspect tools and equipment, identify hazards, and enforce company safety policies. Train and mentor Level 1 and 2 technicians.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 yrs. of experience in DC Power systems, covering installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Must have experience installing & managing batteries, rectifier plants, and power distribution systems.
- Ability to perform diagnostics, including load tests, voltage and gravity readings, to ensure optimal system performance.
- Ability to travel frequently throughout the PHX region with potential overnight stays.
- Company truck, lodging, and per-diem will be provided.
