Job Summary:
The Level IV Installer will play a key role in our field operations in the Ohio market. Responsibilities include a wide range of intermediate to advanced system work, encompassing installation, maintenance, and service of telecommunication equipment for various carriers. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of Central Office Installation (CO Installation), also known as Telecom Switching Centers or Carrier Equipment Rooms. This role focuses on installing and maintaining equipment critical to carrier network operations in these specialized environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide work instruction and guidance to Level I, II, and III Installers.
- Potentially serve as a Site Crew Leader.
- Oversee installations as the in-charge person (as needed).
- Perform additions, removals, and modifications on operational equipment and circuits, including:
- Circuit modifications
- Software updates and additions
- Power transition work
- Battery additions and removals
- Adding or removing circuits on active power distribution sources
- Equipment testing and powering up within central office environments
- Install, test, and maintain equipment commonly found in central offices, such as DC power plants, rectifiers, BDFB, and switching systems.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- 5 or more years of experience installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment in central office environments, carrier network hubs, or equivalent settings.
- Strong technical knowledge of current Network products, with minimal training required.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- In-depth understanding of the various phases of product installation.
- Working knowledge of industry standards, such as Telcordia GR-1275 Core Standards.
- Experience with major carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, CenturyLink, Sprint, etc.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Level III Installer is typically required.
Travel/Shift Requirements:
- Company vehicle provided for Lead/Level IV Installer.
- Occasional travel away from home will be required.
- Per-diem will also be provided when traveling
