Wireless Field Technician III
Minneapolis, MN

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Wireless Technician III to lead and support field activities related to installing, maintaining, and servicing wireless telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in wireless infrastructure, including rooftop macros, pole mount macros, small cells, and distributed antenna systems (IDAS and ODAS). This is a hands-on role requiring technical proficiency, leadership skills, and a strong ability to work in team settings and independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead installation crews in the deployment, maintenance, testing, and repair of wireless systems (rooftop macros, pole mount macros, small cells, IDAS, and ODAS).
  • Perform coax and fiber installations to meet industry standards, including PPC compression tool kit usage.
  • Conduct cable sweeps and tests using spectrum analyzers for return loss, insertion loss, and distance-to-fault analysis.
  • Perform PIM testing and mitigation on cellular equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Perform fusion splicing, fiber connectorizing, and OTDR-based troubleshooting.
  • Participate in kick-off meetings, customer calls, and assist with data collection walks for project planning.
  • Install antennas, rooftop systems, racks, radios, remote units, and head-end components.
  • Ensure proper labeling of cables, antennas, and equipment.
  • Perform power cabling, grounding, and equipment testing for head-end systems.
  • Operate lifts, bucket trucks, and other specialized equipment.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of field installation experience, preferably in the wireless industry.
  • Proficiency with blueprints, construction drawings, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Experience with rooftop cell sites, satellite installations, cable TV, or tower/microwave systems.
  • Fiber splicing experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability under company policy.


Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.


Travel/Physical Requirements:

  • Flexible traveling site-to-site.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
