Position Overview:
As a member of our Transportation Engineering team, this role contributes skills and knowledge of transportation infrastructure projects that include roadway grading, underground utilities, harmonization, and stormwater management, ranging from City-wide masterplans to infrastructure improvements for state, municipal, and public works projects. You will be responsible for:
- Assisting senior professional engineers and the project management team in preparing schedules and budgets.
- Interacting with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing them on plans and in the field.
- Cooperating and communicating with the project manager and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability.
- Developing and preparing engineering design plans (AutoCAD or MicroStation drawings).
- Developing and preparing calculations and specifications for the projects.
- Ensuring the project's compliance with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Identifying and continuously assessing potential risks, materials, and costs to support the project team.
- Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering (Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical or Structural).
- Experience in engineering, designing, and/or construction.
- Engineer-in-Training (EI/EIT) and desire to obtain a Florida Professional Engineer license.
- Comprehension of the permitting protocols and prerequisites pertinent to a particular engineering discipline.
- Experience in consulting or operational aspects of comprehensive civil engineering or infrastructure programs/projects, encompassing design, construction management, inspection, and contract administration of water, wastewater, and/or stormwater system facilities or related projects.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to apply design and safety standards and adhere to industry regulations.
