Waste Management Coordinator

Waste Management Coordinator with waste disposal and recycling experience is needed to provide waste management support for a major Fortune 500 company. This is a long-term contract to hire position with strong potential to convert to full-time with the client.

The WM Coordinator will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of waste management in a data center environment by sorting waste streams and ensuring proper waste diversion measures are taken.

Responsibilities for the Waste Management Coordinator:
* Sort waste streams according to the categories of recyclables and landfill.
* Ensure that waste bins are labeled, clean, and accessible.
* Monitor waste generation and diversion rates and report any issues or suggestions.
* Coordinate with waste haulers and vendors to ensure timely and accurate pickup and delivery.
* Report to management regarding sorting opportunities in a weekly report.
* Proactively guide waste producers to the proper recycling locations
* Raise awareness for any waste streams that don't have a recycling solution.
* Frequent dumpster/waste bin inspections to ensure proper sorting has taken place.
* Work with logistics team members to capture all sorting opportunities.
* Deliver recycling materials to a recycler if needed.
* Support the Team with filter replacements and disposal.
* Monitor vendor projects for proper waste disposal.
* Assist teams with various other duties.

Qualifications for the Waste Management Coordinator:
The ideal candidate will have experience in waste management and a commitment to sustainability.
- Ability to conduct waste audits and identify opportunities for improvement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools
