Central Office Installer IV

$26-$30/hour (Pay commensurate with experience)

*Up to 80% travel*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In addition to the duties of a Level III Installer, you will:
    • Provide work instruction and guidance to Level I, II, and III Installers.
    • Potentially serve as a Site Crew Leader.
    • Oversee installations as the in-charge person (as needed).
  • Perform additions, removals, and modifications on operational equipment and circuits, including:
    • Circuit modifications
    • Software updates and additions
    • Power transition work
    • Battery additions and removals
    • Adding or removing circuits on active power distribution sources
  • Conduct power verification and power up equipment.
  • Test and evaluate systems for efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing infrastructure.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong technical knowledge of current Network products, with minimal training required.
  • Completion of a formal "Basic Installation" training course (or equivalent on-the-job experience).
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • In-depth understanding of the various phases of product installation.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards, such as Telcordia GR-1275 Core Standards.
  • Experience with major carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, CenturyLink, Sprint, etc.

Education and Experience Required:

  • The equivalent of 2 years of electronics training from a technical trade school or military school, coupled with 6 years of field service experience (or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent by the Installation Manager).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Level III Installer is typically required.
  • Proficiency in the specific systems (Network Elements 1, 2, 3, or 4) you will be working on.

Travel/Shift Requirements:

  • Travel away from home for 1-2 weeks may be necessary based on project needs.
  • Be prepared to work various shifts as required.
  • Company vehicle provided for Lead/Level IV Installer
  • Per-diem will also be provided if the job/project site is 65 miles or more from the Primary Work Location.
