Service Technician (Level III) - DC Power


This position requires a highly skilled and experienced technician to perform a variety of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, repair, and removal of DC power systems. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the DC power industry and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities (experience in each required)

  • Install batteries, rectifier battery plants, ironwork, and cable racks.
  • Upgrade and replace DC power plants and primary/secondary distribution equipment (equipment including PBDs, BDFBs, BDCBBs, inverters, and converters).
  • Run power cables, crimp lugs, and perform lacing.
  • Take voltage and gravity readings, perform load tests, and diagnose equipment and systems.
  • Prepare test reports, author technical documentation, and complete job-related paperwork.
  • Read, understand, and follow industry standards, specifications, and schematics.
  • Inspect tools, equipment, and jobsites, identifying potential hazards.


  • Experience in installation, maintenance, repair, and removal of DC Power (min. 3 yrs).
  • Experience in the electrical field with a strong understanding of electrical codes.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, such as Telcordia, IP72202, TP76300, and 77350.
  • Understanding of lead-acid battery operation.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office and customer software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, pass drug tests.


  • Travel required = 50% of the time (Frequent travel required, including driving, flying, overnight stays)
  • Travel expenses will be covered on company's behalf.
