Telecom Installer III - Central Office

$24-$26/hr.

Our top-tier telecommunications client in Dallas (or) San Antonio, TX is seeking a qualified Telecom Installer III to join their team.

This is a position with moderate experience in the telecommunications industry. Under close supervision, Installer III performs field activities associated with installing, maintaining, and servicing telecommunications equipment in Central Office hubs. You will typically handle routine, moderately complex products and/or problems, and should be able to provide direction to lower-level Installers. Must be open to traveling where the work leads. May be away from home up to a week or two at a time (in this case, per-diem will be provided).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and service telecommunications equipment in the field.
  • Perform additional duties such as adding/removing wiring, lead verification/continuity testing, and assisting with higher-level installations under supervision.
  • Interpret drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Test and troubleshoot fiber/copper installations.
  • Discuss media selection and its network implementation implications.
  • Make recommendations based on relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Interpret job plans, perform scope of work tasks, and conduct retrofits/upgrades.
  • May perform duties of a Level IV.


Qualifications:

  • Minium of 2 years Installing Telecommunications equipment in a Central Offices (switching centers).
  • Moderate technical knowledge of current network products.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation.
  • Experience with fiber/copper testing, troubleshooting, and installing.
  • Must be willing to travel away from home from time to time. Per-diem provided when applicable.
