Telecommunications Installer DC (Level II or III)

Location: Northeast Travel

Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Telecommunications Installer/DC technician (Level II or III) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment within data centers. You will work under the supervision of senior technicians, performing tasks such as adding/removing wiring, installing equipment, and ensuring all projects meet quality and safety standards. The position requires travel throughout the Northeast region.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and remove telecommunications equipment hardware.
  • Add, remove, and modify wiring and connections on both energized and non-energized DC power equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
  • Pull and properly sew power cabling - all sizes.
  • Run cable and be able to cut cable when given measurements.
  • Assist senior technicians with lead verification, battery installation/removal, and other tasks (Level II) or independently perform these tasks (Level III)
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience in electrical or telecommunications installation (Level II) or three years of experience with a focus on DC power systems (Level III)
  • Experience working with energized DC power equipment (Level III only)
  • Ability to erect ironwork (cable racks, battery racks, etc.)
  • Experience pulling and installing power cables of all sizes.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including swing shifts.
  • High School Diploma or GED

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs
  • Ability to operate motorized lift equipment for handling batteries (weight range 80-750 lbs)
  • Must be able to frequently push/pull cables up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders for extended periods.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and perform various physical tasks requiring reaching, bending, crouching, etc.
  • Ability to work in various environments with moderate noise levels and temperature fluctuations.
