Lead DC Power Technician


This role leads and performs installations, upgrades, and maintenance of DC power systems for telecommunications. You'll supervise technicians, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to safety standards.

Key Duties:

  • Lead DC power installations and upgrades (chargers, UPS, batteries)
  • Install and maintain battery plants (various voltages).
  • Train and lead a team of DC power technicians.
  • Lead teams running, lacing, and crimping lugs for power cable.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and inspect DC power systems.
  • Ensure compliance with zone 4 environment requirements while installing ironwork and cable rack.
  • Read and interpret detailed specifications and install battery plants (24VDC, 48VDC, 130VDC and UPS).
  • Travel, work outdoors, and lift up to 50 lbs.


  • 5+ years' experience in DC power systems, including UPS and batteries.
  • Experience leading teams installing, replacing and maintaining battery plants (VRLA, Wet Cells, NiCADs & alternative battery systems).
  • Experience with BDFB/BDCBB installations and Battery installs.
  • Test equipment experience with either cellcorder, MK4,digital/mechanical hydrometers, DVM and accessories, DLRO, load test equipment, or O-Scopes.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory and safety regulations.
  • Prefer Work experience in ISO/TL 9000 certified operations.

May be required to travel away from home from time to time. Per-diem provided.
