As an existing Lorien client which was then acquired by a FTSE 100 insurance group in 2020, we stepped up to support the new broader parent company with a similar optimised recruitment model. This involved extending our service into new areas of the business including customer service, asset management and actuarial. We successfully scaled up our specialist, dedicated delivery team to cope with increased demand.
Lorien deployed a dedicated onsite team to manage the full end-to-end recruitment process for both contingent and permanent recruitment, coupled with delivering a direct sourcing model supported by small PSL of existing suppliers for niche roles.

Lorien implemented a best in class 3rd party VMS, SAP FieldGlass, to support the contingent worker recruitment process workflow and provide complete, real time visibility of temporary recruitment across the business. A supply chain rationalisation exercise was managed to ensure the best agencies were retained for future supply signed to consistent and competitive commercial terms. Worker payroll was migrated to Lorien terms and therefore were implemented as a part of the robust contractor care programme.
Comprehensive recruitment data & MI was provided on regular basis along with comprehensive and forward-focussed quarterly service review meetings, in addition to a ee-definition of the pre-employment screening requirements for contingent hires to improve time to start and candidate experience. Process improvements were implemented, including new ways of working across the business supported by a robust hiring manager training programme and toolkit to drive and sustain quality.
THE OUTCOME_
From the launch of the solution to today the Lorien team have exceeded all KPIs and have had consistently positive feedback from hiring managers, suppliers and candidates alike. Although originally out of scope, the client identified that they needed to use a targeted graduate scheme to source new talent. We designed and managed the attraction, sourcing and screening for this programme fulfilling all graduate intake requirements for the upcoming three years.
We suppled 97% of all roles directly and cover all roles from Customer Service Representative to Actuaries and Heads of Functions. When attracting quality talent, a high touch approach was crucial. We implemented candidate information packs, supported the client’s Careers website rebuild and the improved on-boarding processes - all of which contributes to the current fulfilment rate that remains at 97%+.
