THE PROBLEM_

Lorien was initially engaged by a ‘Big 4’ consultancy and accounting business as their RPO partner for all technology-focused permanent recruitment. Before the appointment, the client already had in place an outsourced solution for their contingent workforce and also their non-IT business services recruitment with two generalist talent solution providers.

However, the firm identified a need for a tech specialist recruitment partner to help them achieve their strategic IT and digital aspirations and to transform their brand into an employer of choice for technology, in the way it was for accountancy.

THE SOLUTION_

After nearly a decade as their Tech RPO partner, and post a competitive RFP process, Lorien was subsequently awarded all experienced hire permanent recruitment (up to and including manager level) across the firm. Lorien is now the single, holistic multi-discipline RPO partner for this customer.

The client decided to consolidate their Tech and Non-Tech RPO suppliers and appoint a single RPO partner across the firm in order to benefit from the consistency of service, and brand messaging that comes through engaging with a single partner. Since this service went live we have significantly scaled up and down the dedicated Lorien Account team in response to a peaks and troughs in new requirements. We provide continuous improvement via key recruitment metrics and reporting to ensure the service is performing optimally, as well as hiring manager packs designed to simplify and explain the hiring process.

We also created candidate packs aimed at showcasing the client’s brand and what they can offer prospective candidates in terms of career progression and development which enables us to attract niche candidates. Lorien has been able to work with the client to significantly shift the dial against their diversity hiring targets. To this day, we continue to work in partnership with the client to offer continuous improvement and innovative sourcing solutions as our service evolves.

THE PROCESS_

Within the Lorien account team structure client-facing activities, continuous improvement initiatives and some candidate-facing activities were delivered by a co-located Account team, whilst sourcing and additional coordination activities were conducted by dedicated heads based offsite in London. Our team also had continual access to the Lorien shared support teams and the Impellam Group network. We also proactively managed a small and motivated PSL of niche suppliers who are engaged at the earliest stage where they are in a strong position to meet the requirement.

We took a key focus on supporting the firm’s strategic I&D initiatives. Two examples include our ‘Tech Meets Talent’ programme and our work on Women in Technology and Black Heritage Talent programme, which fits in with the firm’s wider diversity agenda.

THE OUTCOME_
