Our differences make us interesting – imagine a world where everyone was the same! At Lorien, diversity means being able to bring your full self to work, respecting differences, and making sure everyone is treated fairly and is valued for their unique contributions. Our ED&I group Cohesion is dedicated to making our workplace a fun, inclusive and safe place to be – from honouring meaningful days to influencing our policies. Meanwhile Business Resource Groups across the business drive engagement and provide focus on our diverse people – led by a dedicated Head of Culture and Fulfilment.
We are a Living Wage Employer, a Disability Confident Leader, and a Silver Investors in People holder. As part of our commitment to improving our inclusivity internally, we will interview anyone with a disability as long as they meet our minimum role requirements. Just let us know when you send in your application.
Finding that sweet work-life balance spot is important. Here at Lorien, we believe you get out what you put in, but that your work life should be about more than just smashing the bottom line.
Get together with the team on regular socials; join us for organised fun like volunteering or activities like five-a-side; take a seat at our top table; or simply meet someone new in our open plan offices and breakout areas.
The highlight in the Lorien calendar is our yearly conference, complete with team building, an awards-ceremony, and black-tie evening event at a boutique hotel. Bag an award? Get your passport ready. Top performers are whisked away on our annual Elite trip – a coveted all-expenses-paid holiday to a luxury destination.
Contributing to society
We believe in giving back and making the future of tech one that represents the world around us.
Our Head of Corporate Social Responsibility is Chris Blackburn. Chris has aligned our charitable efforts with the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals (which can be accessed here: https://sdgs.un.org/goals) in order to provide structure and establish the areas in which we can have the greatest impact. Our contributions to society manifest not only through charitable donations, but through our volunteering programme, employability programmes and our long-term carbon footprint project. Lorien employees are entitled to two days’ volunteering leave every year.
Our current official partners, although we also donate to and are involved with a number of other charities and projects, are WeeeCharity, Seetec Outsource, MAMA.codes, WhizzKids and Tech Girls.
Lorien is part of the Impellam Group, the UK’s largest staffing company and a leading global talent acquisition and managed workforce solutions provider. Impellam employs 2,900 people across 13 market-leading brands in 70 worldwide locations.
Lorien, SRG (life sciences) and Carbon60 (engineering) make up Impellam Group’s STEM recruitment portfolio. We collaborate to share expertise, dissolve the boundaries between brands and sectors for our clients, and to align on strategic initiatives that matter to us all – like nurturing the next generation of scientists, engineers, doctors, and technicians. Our vision is to provide the very best of STEM talent to solve some of the world’s toughest problems, like fighting cancer, workforce transformation, and tackling climate change.
