Lead Full Stack Developer - Node.JS

We are recruiting for a Lead Full-stack Developer to join one of the UK's leading financial services organisations, whilst working as part of the business that has a real start-up / fintech feel.

The Team

The team you would be joining work hard but also make sure they enjoy each others company both in and outside of the office, with plenty of socials and opportunities to unwind after busy days.

You'll have the choice to work predominantly remote but the team do like to meet up once per week in their London office (Holborn), whether that be for collaboration such as for scrum ceremonies, socials in the rooftop garden or product launches and other milestone events.

The Role

As a Lead Full-Stack Developer you will be working closely with a cross-functional creative and technical team on a range of new projects using cutting-edge technologies. Strong communication skills are essential with the ability to take the lead and work alongside the wider team on tight deadlines with a well organised, detailed and accurate manner. You will part of a dynamic, agile and rapidly growing environment, where your creativity and innovation is valued, delivering high quality code within a test driven environment. You'll also share your knowledge, coach more junior members of the team.

To be successful in this role, you will hold some of the following skills:

• You actively get involved in technical decision making
• Strong problem solving and investigative skills, pragmatic in your approach but also not afraid to get stuck in and try something new
• You have solid experience developing and working on microservice architecture
• Competent programming in Node.js and Python (desirable but the candidate would need to get up to speed with Python if not previously experienced)
• Source control software such as Gitlab, GitHub
• Ability to provide simple, easy to support technical solutions
• Experience with networking / API's - a strong understanding of GraphQL is a plus
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• High level of analytical skills, turning meaningful analysis into recommended actions
