Senior Accountant Opportunity - up to £52,000 depending on experience

Our client is one of the UK's leading Financial Services organisations, currently looking for a Senior Accountant with post qualification experience to join its team. This role will be a hybrid working opportunity in a team located at the Swindon office.

This Senior Accountant role is a vital one, contributing to important objectives of the broader Financial Reporting team and is a great opportunity to be part of a team delivering statutory financial statements. There is a key role to play in the preparation of the annual financial statements and half-year accounts. This will involve preparation of the primary financial statements, ownership of the underlying accounts mapping document, preparation of some of the notes to the financial statements and supervision of more junior team members. You'll be involved in the preparation of some of the company annual financial statements, including liaising with external auditors. You'll also have significant involvement in the maintenance of the finance general ledger, and also the controls around external bank accounts.

This role will suit someone who enjoys the technical aspect of financial reporting, who is good at managing relationships and can deliver to tight deadlines.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally hold the following experience:

• Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with post-qualification experience
• Have recent technical accounting experience, or of producing statutory annual financial statements.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be proactive and inquisitive
• Have strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Be good at process and stakeholder management
• Be experienced in the use of both Microsoft Excel and Word
• Enjoy working in a team, and committing to tight deadlines
• Enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience with more junior team members
