Our client, a company with considerable scale in the UK and Europe, are looking for multiple AV field service engineers to join their team across various locations in the UK. This is part of their growth and target to keep engineer commutes to within their local areas, these engineers will provide both reactive support calls and planed preventative visits for their corporate, government & retail clients.

Preventative Maintenance Visits

Arranged to keep AV, Digital Signage and Video Conferencing systems maintained, their programme ensures that needs are continuing to be met, with minimized equipment downtime.

  • Carry out Full System Checks and fully documenting the process.
  • Following manufacturer recommended service guidelines, servicing technologies, and replacing service items such as filters.
  • Backing up configuration files and program codes

Reactive Support

When faults are unable to be fixed remotely, a field service engineer will be deployed to the site with the aim to fix the problem or provide a temporary solution whilst permanent fixes are planned to ensure minimum impact to the client and sticking to SLA agreements.

During these visits, you would have access to a team of specialists within the company who are experts in all the key technologies you would come across, such as DSP, Unified Communication, Control Systems, Digital Signage and Networking.

Why should you join this team?

Average retention for Field Service Engineers within this team is 7 years, this is largely due to our client having a focus on their employee's mental wellbeing, career progression and job satisfaction.

An example of their focus on the wellbeing of their engineers, as well as safety on the road, is their target commutes to be a maximum of 2 hours for site visits and their efforts to adjust start times based on the time to commute to the site (9am for within 1 hour, 10am for 2 hours, for example). On occasion you may be required to go further, however support such as accommodation will be offered.

A typical workflow from fault reporting to you attending site would be as follows:

  1. Client calls in with problem,
  2. Admin team will take the call, offer 1st line support and report via ServiceNow,
  3. Ticket evaluated by support team/2nd line to try fix remotely,
  4. Technical Engineer organises which engineer goes to site according to their skillset and time considerations,
  5. You will get the ticket, details of the fault, previous visit notes, ticket evaluation and what to do for further support if needed on site. Additionally, if required, equipment will be couriered to site ready for your arrival.

Furthermore, the role has a great progression path with 5 different grades for the role and 6 monthly conversations to track your progress and help you progress to the next scale.
