The role

Reporting to the Enterprise Content Transformation Programme Manager, you will be responsible for the architectural ownership of all Office 365 technical solutions within the programme space specifically focusing on SharePoint. Working alongside our strategic Partners you will define the architecture & solutions to support the programme in line with the needs of the business units & end users while aligning with the strategic roadmap of the Collaboration and End User Compute Teams.

You will be responsible for both strategic and technical areas:


  • Owning and delivering against a Microsoft solutions roadmap
  • Reviewing technical designs and recommendations from our strategic partners
  • Creating technical designs and providing architectural solutions
  • Supporting the DWS Architects to ensure that Microsoft solutions offering remains fit for purpose
  • Supporting Business Partners and Service Delivery Managers in ensuring Microsoft solutions deliver in line with service expectations
  • Delivering Microsoft technology showcases
  • Assisting with the preparation of business cases for Microsoft related projects
  • Participation in technical design authority (TDA)
  • Working with the Programme Manager to develop and deliver short, medium and long-term roadmaps for end user computing services that will generate a significant, positive impact on profitability and strategic direction, through improved stability, capacity management, quality and cost effectiveness
  • Stay abreast of trends in Microsoft technologies
  • Working with the Programme Manager to effectively manage global Microsoft solution related risks and issues


  • Development & configuration of the Office 365 environment in line with recommendations and requirements from the Enterprise Architecture, IT Security and End User Services teams while adhering to all change processes
  • Providing LLD & HLD for business solutions within the Office 365 environment specifically SharePoint Online in conjunction with 3rd Parties
  • Ensuring (through a mixture of technical administration, reporting, documentation and process/policy creation), that the cost, access, availability and security of Office 365 environments and associated resources is controlled
  • Managing various Office 365 environments (Azure, Power Platform, etc) including subscriptions, monitoring, and analysing resource consumption
  • Configuring and scripting reports to support governance of the platform as a whole with emphasis on solution management
  • Leading the deployment of new software or upgrade of existing services

Person specification / Core Competencies:

You must possess strong interpersonal communication skills being able to interact with key business stakeholders up to director level. You will also possess strong IT third party management skills. You must demonstrate strong leadership qualities and be-able to manage teams across the globe.


  • Strong Architecture experience of Microsoft Office 365 and Azure to include SharepPoint
  • Excellent knowledge of the best available tools, software, applications and systems related to Microsoft technologies
  • Deep experience in the O365 suite, including deep technical skills for managing environments
  • Proven background in supporting user mobility and agile working environments
  • Strong organization/project planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments, and strong delegation skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity
  • Advanced problem-solving experience involving identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues; prior success extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision-making
  • Advanced communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior and director level management, including presenting information in a concise and effective manner to management, and various departments using assorted communication methods
  • Strong research skills
  • A professional who can provide examples of transforming Microsoft solutioning services within a global company
  • A natural problem solver
  • Ability to set and effectively communicate end user computing strategies, roadmaps, policies and processes
