Job Title: Cyber Exposure Analyst

Location: Remote Working / London office

Type: Contract (6 months - 12 months)

Pay: £800 per/day (Inside IR35)

You will be working for a commercial insurance and reinsurance company based in London.


This role is an analytical position within the business will support the Cyber Exposure Lead in validating cyber exposure models and Realistic Disaster Scenarios. Additionally, the role will provide support in routine analysis and reports, such as data management, running exposure and loss concentration analyses and reporting the movement of aggregate exposure and modelled loss to support the companies cyber strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver validation process and artefacts for cyber-specific and "silent-cyber" exposure management models; ensuring relevance of outputs to the business and that input data is accurate, complete and appropriate for all reporting purposes.
  • Convert exposure data into format required by cyber modelling software in order to support validation, business planning and capital modelling.
  • Liaise with other Enterprise Risk Management teams within the group to ensure alignment of validation process with regards to exposure data standards and modelling best practices.
  • Understand and evaluate the impact of updates and revisions to models and the outputs produced by cyber modelling software and communicate effectively to stakeholders.
  • Support cyber cell underwriting experts in communicating results to global underwriting functions.
  • Assist with development of new internal Realistic Disaster Scenarios, capturing regional instances where new and existing RDS do not meet geographic/local market conditions
  • Develop executive dashboards to display and report quarterly ERM model outputs.
  • Support the ERM quarterly reporting process and ad hoc Prudential Regulation Authority and Lloyd's regulatory reporting.
  • Support the alignment of reinsurance and insurance ERM.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in catastrophe modelling, within either insurance or reinsurance environment
  • Good understanding of insurance and reinsurance concepts
  • Knowledge of deterministic and stocastic ERM models
  • Prior experience of model and RDS validation preferred
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, R, VBA
