My client, a large Bank, is looking for a number of Network Engineers to initially join their enterprise network. The role will be responsible for managing multiple integrated network technologies delivering both traditional and cloud native network architecture & solutions & reporting on critical network compliance and availability.

The network engineer will contribute to the design, planning, operation, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of the clients Infrastructure Network.


  • Collaborate with network architects to design and implement functional enterprise networks.
  • Execute given assignments in a self-directed manner, anticipate issues and update procedures as required.
  • Be able to manage a team of more junior network engineers assigning work and managing performance to achieved outcomes. Focus of strengths and areas of development for colleagues and support them to progress.
  • Provides 24x7 on-call support in troubleshooting of High Priority incidents to ensure quick recovery of critical services.
  • Provides innovative ideas and approaches that improve availability of Santander UK network and IT systems, gather feedback to drive improvements.
  • Ensures support and adherence of standards, policies, and procedures.

Key Skills and Experiences

  • Solid Network Engineer Experience
  • CCIE Certified
  • Proved background working on security network technologies including firewall, proxy, IPS, WAF, VPN
  • Cloud knowledge (AWS and/or Azure)
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
  • Solid understanding of Network operating systems incl, IOS, EOS, CatOS, NX OS, VXLAN.
  • Certified administrator of F5 Big IP, Big IQ, LTM, GTM.
  • VMware technologies, including vSphere/ESX, VMware View, vCenter, Site Recovery Manager, running in enterprise environments
  • Automation skills using Python, Ansible, Rundeck, Postman, Terraform.
