Contract role - Initially 3 months

Hybrid working in Leeds and remote

Are you an information Management & Governance Specialist with a comprehensive understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation and related Data Protection Legislation, specifically in the health-care sector?

My client is looking for someone to join on a contract basis for an initial 3 month period, to be based in Leeds (with remote working).

The purpose of the role includes:

  • To provide advice and guidance on a wide range of complex Information Governance related matters including projects and queries which involve the processing of personal data and / or Special Category personal data; requests for information or disclosure; information sharing; security incidents; and research projects.
  • To draft and / or review related agreements and protocols including information sharing agreements, data processing agreements, data privacy impact assessments etc.
  • To ensure that services commissioned are compliant with appropriate statutes, law and good practice in terms of data sharing and management.
  • To continue the ongoing continuous improvement of its compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation through leading on, contributing to, and working on a number of the work streams.

The experience we are looking for includes:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation and related Data Protection Legislation, together with experience of applying the DPA to a range of complex issues, is essential.
  • An expert knowledge of other laws pertaining to Information Governance and Data Protection within the Health sector.

Key Skills include:

  • Able to analyse and interpret the intersection of the many aspects of statute and common law which underpin data protection, privacy and confidentiality and to present appropriate arguments to support decisions and suggested courses of action with regards to Personal/Special Category Data and Personal Confidential Data.
  • Able to demonstrate highly developed interpersonal skills, including an ability to analyse and communicate information effectively, accurately and concisely to a wide range of people.
  • Able to represent the Information Governance Service internally and externally and persuade / influence accordingly.
