Contract day rate £1000-£1400 inside IR35


My clients are investing heavily into Technology, Operations and Product. The Director of Product Engineering is a vital technology leadership role. This is a major technology transformation project that aims to replace all core systems and improve data efficiency. Focussing on robotics, AI and the automation of all end-to-end processes, whilst moving to build a more product orientated business. This role will be accountable for all aspects of design and delivery.


  • Build product technical vision, strategy, and technology roadmap
  • Build, mentor and lead strong technical teams globally
  • Provide high-level technical contributions to client relationships
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Product, Ops, architecture, development, UX) to drive alignment around product strategy and technology roadmaps
  • Own product requirements, specifications, design, and release plans
  • Ensure product delivery, timeliness, and meet requirements as it conforms to data security and privacy standards
  • Proactive ownership of risks and mitigation plans
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Collaborate with other Product Engineering Directors on interdependencies and best-practices along with Community of Practice owner
  • Responsible for enabling the System Development Life Cycle methodology
  • Ensure product architecture and implementation is maintainable and scalable
  • Ensures all automated processes preserve data by managing the alignment of data availability and integration processes


Key to the Technology leadership team. You will be able to navigate a complex, relationship driven, environment that is undergoing a period of significant change. You will need to be comfortable dealing with uncertainty and constant moving parts.

  • Proven background leading globally distributed engineering teams
  • Solid technical experience in automated, agile environments
  • Strong Vendor Management experience
  • A track record of build vs buy analysis in technology section
  • Passionate about infrastructure as code and associated automation and provisioning tools
  • Led teams through fast paced development cycles; committed to automation, agile, lean-start-up, continuous delivery approach
  • Strong financial and budgetary management
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and technical thought-leadership
