Senior Azure DevOps Engineer As one of Microsoft's largest UK healthcare data customers with a variety of Azure services and technologies used across their suite of solutions, my client builds and delivers market leading applications in the integrated care record and population health space. As a 'Cloud First' organisation they have earned a top 100 spot in the mid-sized companies' category, and following recent successes of their solutions, they're looking to expand and continue to innovate in their DevOps space. Working at the leading end of the existing DevOps team, the individual will have a strong influence and diverse workload:

• Mentoring junior staff
• Automation of infrastructure and software rollout using Azure DevOps pipelines, including quality gates such as peer reviews
• Design and develop Infrastructure, using an IaC approach
• Design and develop automated scaling and failover using deep health checks and insights
• Work closely with other departments, such as Architecture and Development, to ensure that Azure technologies are being used correctly
• Work closely with other departments, such as Ops and TechOps, to facilitate the smooth running of the cloud services by providing utilities/dashboards/scripts etc
• Work closely with the Security teams to analyse and help remediate on internal and SoC flagged issues, along with assisting in internal vulnerability checks/ethical hacking
• Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and advising on how they could be used to better the existing architecture (this may also include PoC)
• Continuous improvement and testing of DR/BCP to ensure high availability

Experience & Skills Required:

• A thorough understanding of AzurePaaS components. Key areas:
  • AKS (deployment + management)
  • API Management
  • App Services
  • Azure SQL and MI
  • Functions
  • Networking
  • App Insights
• Proven experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)
• Solid understanding of
  • Terraform (desired) / Bicep / Pulumi
  • HELM charts
  • Powershell / Azure CLI

Advantageous:

• Healthcare or Government related industry experience
• Understanding of JIRA and Confluence

Qualifications:

• Microsoft certification(s) in Azure, such as AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-303/4

Experience is valued over accreditation, however, as we're a Microsoft partner, there will be encouragement to gain accreditation during employment. You will join a cross dimensional and experienced team, operating under a Scaled Agile framework, with access to a range of industry leading tools and plenty of opportunities to grow and increase your skillset. The person we are looking for will need to have 4+ years' experience with Azure, who can demonstrate a real passion for cloud technology, with excellent problem solving and critical thinking, excellent work ethic and communication skills.
