Infrastructure Support Engineer - new job in Bolton, UK

Infrastructure Support Specialist - Bolton, Manchester.This is an excellent opportunity for anyone in a 1^st or 2^nd line support role to progress in their career and gain more exposure to back-end systems and 3^rd line support.

Based in Bolton, Manchester, this role is paying between £25k and £31k (plus benefits), THE ROLE: Working with an established team of 11 other support engineers, you will assist in looking after approximately 2500 end users, in a small enterprise environment, which will include:

• Undertaking escalated and 2^nd line trouble shooting as well as some 3^rd line
• Providing support across all infrastructure, which includes ICT systems, document core systems, software and hardware, as well as maintaining and developing all network technologies across the Foundation.
• Participate in infrastructure improvement projects and support other member of the ICT team.
• Research and implement upgrades/replacements of all software/hardware
• Maintain full working backups of all system, servers and data.
• Maintain the disaster recovery system
• Ensure the security and integrity of the ICT hardware, systems and data
• Maintain systems to control and monitor the use of the Internet, email, ICT and communications equipment

There will be very little need for any after hours or weekend work (Mon-Friday, 8-5), but if in the event it is required on the rare occasion, overtime will be paid. WHATS IN IT FOR YOU:

• Know your way around a virtual environment and have knowledge of vitalisation technology
• Some experience or knowledge of networking (Cisco, Aruba or similar)
• Familiarity with Firewalls and switches
• Working knowledge of active directory knowledge
• Experience with MS deployment suites beneficial
• ICT based qualification such as MCSE or CCNA
