SENIOR DATA PROTECTION PRACTITIONER - 3 MONTH CONTRACT - OUTSIDE IR35

The successful candidate will be required to work with a small team to further enhance and grow Data Governance in support of the partnership and its shared objectives and improve the data sharing landscape between organisations. You will engage with multiple colleagues from across our partnership, working with them to support the implementation of a Master Customer Record for Scotland. Your role will be to help promote and help enable these organisations and to encourage and support the appropriate data sharing in line with the Information Commissioner's guidance. To do this, you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following specific duties: * Implementation and expansion of a Data Governance framework with working practices across an organisation and ideally multiple organisations working in partnership. * Implementing a centralised data quality process, identifying opportunities and working with data owners and stewards to establish robust processes to embed data quality, data life cycle processes and enhanced knowledge. * Evidence of how you have demonstrated the benefits to stakeholders of improved data quality and knowledge with the promotion of data governance practices. * Meta-data management practices in conjunction with data cataloguing.

  • Understanding and applying legislation applicable to data and information governance including but not limited to Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR and Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011 into data governance framework and processes.

Additionally, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: * In-depth knowledge and experience of data governance policies and procedures including data quality, knowledge, stewardship, ownership and meta-data management and business glossary. You can explain the theory and standard methodology of data governance, how to apply these efficiently and the practical considerations. * Exceptional communication skills. You can identify important stakeholders and communicate with them clearly and regularly. You can tailor communication to stakeholders' needs and work with them to build relationships while also meeting user needs. You can build and reach consensus with multiple stakeholders. * Proven ability to self-learn and keep up to date with industry standards and practices.
