Senior Cloud Engineer

SENIOR CLOUD ENGINEER - 6 MONTHS - OUTSIDE IR35

Our public sector client is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer with background working with AWS.

The Senior Cloud Engineer will provide technical leadership to the Cloud Project. Main duties will include;

• Provide technical leadership
• Work with Cloud Architecture to define the engineering tooling required to construct and implement the cloud architecture
• Translate cloud architecture into engineering code such as developing the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for workloads, creating workload deployment and workload pipelines and implementing automated testing
• Troubleshoots complex deployment issues
• Ensures engineering is operational ready
• Implement Logging, monitoring and alerting

Essential Skills and Experience

• At least 3 years' experience in an senior cloud engineering role
• Ability to develop automate the deployment of workloads form a cloud architecture design template
• Strong understanding of AWS core technologies such as: EC2, Storage, ELB, RDS (Oracle, MS SQL), Networking, etc;
• Extensive knowledge developing IaC and CI\CD pipelines by leveraging cloud engineering tools such as Terraform and\or CloudFormation, Git, CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, Jenkins or similar
• Strong understanding of AWS security services such as IAM, KMS, ACM, Security Groups, NACLs, Shield, WAF, Inspector, Guard Duty, Config, Secrets Manager, etc;
• Strong containerisation background: developing Docker images and hosting using AWS ECS, ECR and Docker Hub
• Understanding on how to utilise AWS serverless architecture such as Lambda, API Gateway, Fargate, etc;
• Excellent Logging, Monitoring and Alerting knowledge within AWS
• Implement automated testing as part of the automated build and deployment process
• SIEM Monitoring configuration
• Ability to resolve complex infrastructure deployment issues.
