
Finance Manager - Hybrid Working - Part-Time (3 days per week) - Salary : £27k- £33k DOE (£45k-£55k FTE)
Lorien's client is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their dynamic team in central Edinburgh. The Finance Manager will have a wide ranging role with full responsibility for day to day running of the finance department and prepare for future growth over diverse geographies. The Finance Department is responsible for legal entity accounting, tax, managerial accounting and oversee all of the financial activities of the company.
About the role:
You will be hands on with all aspects of accounting from accounts payable to tax compliance. Reporting to the CFO and will assist with the development of financial systems, processes and internal controls to support a growing business.
- Manage all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee expenses, budgeting, tax, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.
- Maintain documented system of accounting policies and
- Work closely with the IT development team to ensure that the Recast platform is developed to facilitate accounting and tax compliance
- Oversee payments of all accounts; ensuring all accounts are paid on time
- Monitor cash and funding
- Ownership month end processes: bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and monthly journals
- Preparation of quarterly EU and UK VAT returns
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly/annual budgets along with monthly review budget v actual
- Ownership year end reporting and preparation of annual financial statements under IFRS
- Organise information and statements for external auditors
- Define, benchmark and implement operational best practices
- Manage tax and financial reporting compliance; liaising with external tax advisors
- Ensuring company complies with all additional legal and regulatory requirements
- Additional controller duties as needed
About you:
- Proven background as a Finance Manager, preferably in a start-up, highly IT automated environment but that is more a nice to have.
- Ideally ACCA / ICAEW / ICAS / CIMA qualified preferred, newly qualified or 1st/2nd move.
- Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and IFRS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- M&A experience a plus point but not essential
- Knowledge of employee equity compensation programs highly useful.
- Understanding of different legal and multinational entity structures
- Exhibit background in dealing with direct and indirect tax implications of complex events/activities
- Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations

Hybrid working role with office in the city centre of Edinburgh, please not this role is *Part-Time (3 days per week)* and offers up to £55,000 per annum pro-rata (£33,000 for 3-day week) plus excellent benefits.
