DATA ANALYST (Cognos BI, Tableau) - 3 MONTHS - INSIDE IR35

Our Edinburgh based client has a new and vital opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst for an initial 3 months contract.

The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the numerical and analytical work to support the strategic planning process and support the delivery of objectives.

The successful candidate will have an eye for detail, an aptitude for the analysis and interpretation of data and experience of using management information to provide high quality support for senior colleagues. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels.

• Produce accurate, timely and robust management information drawn from a variety of internal corporate systems using Business Intelligence tools. Produce reports that are concise and provide actionable intelligence for senior management and other key stakeholders
• Support the Data Governance Manager in identifying and improving our corporate data that is used for external and internal reporting
• Working with the Head of Planning & Business Intelligence identify opportunities to enhance the performance in league tables through the enhancement of data collections and reporting arrangements

Essential

• Extensive experience of analysing, interpreting and presenting management information to inform decision making and policy development.
• Significant experience of data analysis and manipulation, including familiarity with large databases. Highly computer literate with extensive experience of Excel
• Experience of working with Business Intelligence tools e.g. Cognos BI, Tableau
• Experience of working with a range of stakeholders, including senior management to provide high quality management information.
