DATA GOVERNANCE MANAGER - £45,845 - FIXED TERM 31.12.24

Our client has a new opportunity for a Data Governance Manager to join their team on a fixed term contract until 31st December 2024.

The purpose of the role is to develop and implement mechanisms to ensure the quality of all data held on systems is of the highest quality and that it continues to meet business requirements now and in the future.

Day to day you will;

  • Facilitate working groups with both internal and external stakeholders to identify, challenge, develop and enhance Data Governance best practice
  • Instigate and develop relationships with key external stakeholders in order to gain an understanding of their needs and expectations in relation to the business systems/data requirements
  • Design and manage the implementation of data quality standards/rules
  • Lead data quality reviews of current systems providing appropriate feedback and support to ensure best practice
  • Lead and direct the embedding of Data Governance activity within projects and BAU across the organisation, ensuring all Data Governance tasks/processes run as expected to provide recommendations on changes/improvements
  • Set and benchmark data management standards in order to produce documentation to identify, clarify and evaluate data issues and risks associated with projects and programmes

Essential

  • Ideally 3+ years in a similar position
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of implementing data management policies and procedures including data ownership, meta-data management data security, data lifecycle, data storage and data retention and archiving
  • Have the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Have excellent negotiating and influencing skills
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills
  • Be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills including influencing and motivating others
  • Be able to demonstrate a team approach whilst also being able to work autonomously
