Our client, a well-known organization in the Technology and Software Solutions (TSS) industry, is searching for a Field IT Support Engineer to join their team.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and resolving end-user hardware issues within the Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council region. You will travel from site to site providing deskside support, or at remote worker location/s. You will also support the wider team with Smart Hands, Project Delivery, Holiday, and cover for Absence.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Accurately complete approved work requests within the agreed service level agreement (SLA).
- Diagnose and repair hardware faults on HP and Dell laptops, desktops, and servers.
- Manage warranty repair calls for HP and Dell equipment.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers and peripheral equipment.
- Image laptops and desktops.
- Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity and desktop/laptop hardware.
- Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical issues within the desktop and server environment.
- Escalate issues to the appropriate person or team as needed to resolve issues within the SLA.
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
- Experience with HP, HPE, and Dell equipment.
- Able to diagnose and repair desktop and laptop computers, as well as laser printers.
- Able to provide first-line support for server hardware.
- Understands IT infrastructure solutions and SLAs.
