Core IP Network Engineer - Edinburgh - up to 55k (Remote and Hybrid offering)

Lorien's central Edinburgh based client - a rapidly growing firm operating in the Telecoms domain with exciting plans to increase their client base by tenfold over the next couple of years - is currently looking to bolster its team in the shape of a key new addition to their Networking squad.

Right now they're looking to recruit the talents of a Core IP Network Engineer with a breadth of knowledge and skills to come on board and drive the design and implementation of networking solutions for a range of customers across Scotland.

The skills/knowledge we're looking for:

• Strong working knowledge of Juniper, or Cisco and willing to cross over
• Knowledge across broadband routing protocols (Ipv6, MPLS etc)
• Ideally any Juniper / Cisco qualifications ( JNCP / CCNA /etc.)
• PON knowledge and strong analytical skills
• Previous exposure in a network roll out environment
• Strong customer focused approach

The kind of duties involved:

• Provide network troubleshooting skills to isolate and diagnose network problems across the MPLS network
• Work with the Network Operations Manager to complete annual and corrective maintenance across the core network (core IP/MPLS & active network)
• Provide on-site (installation and upgrade) and remote technical services as necessary across multiple locations
• Work with 3^rd party suppliers and technology vendors
• Create maintenance packs and support guides for NOC and filed team
• Point of escalation for 2^nd line NOC team members and field team proving tier 3 support
• Monitor and manage the customer quality of experience
