Risk Manager

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Risk Manager to join their Edinburgh based team on an initial 6 months contract. Hybrid working (2-3 days a week) in Edinburgh.

Key responsibilities:

• Working closely with senior internal and external senior stakeholders to inform oversight of the Programme; providing assurance that all risks and obligations are being met, operational and conduct risks are being adequately managed and customer outcomes are fair and appropriate
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with the wider Risk team
• Support the workstream lead with risk reporting to the Board and management committees on the key risks to the Group arising from the Programme
• Promote a strong risk culture in which the Risk Management Framework is valued and embedded, the identification and management of risks to customers is central to decision making and key judgements and assumptions are transparent.

Key skills:

• Experience of operating in a regulated Financial Services organisation with detailed knowledge of operational risk and regulatory requirements in relation to financial services
• Evidence of building and maintaining wide stakeholder networks and relationships across a large organisation.
• Continuously maintaining and developing technical knowledge (regulatory, legislative etc.) and applying this in conjunction with significant business awareness in order to provide review, challenge and advice.
• Excellent communication skills and gravitas including experience of reporting and presenting at senior management / executive level.
• Demonstrate sound risk awareness and judgement.
