Finance Manager

Finance Manager St Albans- 5 days on-site as well as once a month visits to a second site. Salary: £38,000 to £43,000 per annum DOE

We are working with an Education client of ours who are looking to grow within their Finance team to be able to come in an provide assistance on areas including reviewing and approval of the invoices that are being created, supporting senior areas of the business with the preparation of annual budgets and spend forecasting as well as assist on their mid and end of year financial audits.

You will be working closely with a Finance Analyst to oversee the financial management as well as assist the Finance analyst by providing hands-on support on preparation and completion of monthly management accounts focusing on accurals and pre-payments along with the monthly reconciliation that inc;udes payroll and control accounts.

Experience:

• Experience working in a Finance or accountant focus role for the last two years and has been require to work and take charge on the monthly account management and provided reconciliation on this when required.
• Strong excel skill and can successfull manipluate the data for reporting including the creation of Pivot tables.
• Completion or in the process of completing you CIMA or ACCA qualification or quivalent qualifications.

Diserable:

• Previous experience working in the education sector in a role similar like this is diserable but not essential

Benefits: No bonus but do offer Pension contribution of 22.65%.They have advertised this role and interviewed candidates for this role but they were unsuccessful due to the way they interviewed and completed the task.Interview process:

• 30 minutes task that is finance/accounting using excel.
• They would meet the team and have a tour of the office.
• Followed by a formal competency interview with Hazel and Leena.

This happen all on the same dayAbout the role and what they will be doing: This person would be focusing on the Hemel Hampstead site. Leena has all the finance analyst report into her but the Finance Business Partner would have one Finance working with them/ reporting into them. This is a hands-on role where they will be reviewing the data that the finance analyst has inputted to create the invoices before they are then approved by this person.They use a finance software called Access Education for their ledger work and excel for the data manipulation but experience with Access Education is need an essential.It would be beneficial if they had experience working in the education industry before but not a requirement. ACCA qualified is desirable but they will review people with the AAT qualification and the additional experience or someone with vast finance and accounting experience with not qualification.
