Cyber Security Specialist

Cyber Security Specialist Outside IR35 6 Month Initial contract Remote - Willing to travel when needed

Our Public Sector client is looking to bring in a Cyber Security Specialist to join their team on an initial 6-month contract. The client is rapidly moving a number of processes to digital platforms, during this work they look for support from the Security Specialist to support.

Essential skills, competences, relevant qualifications and previous experience required.

• Experience understanding traditional on-premises systems as well as cloud (eg. Azure, O365) and communications technologies is essential.
• A broad understanding of the application of security controls to systems is expected - including but not limited to authentication/authorisation, encryption and data security, secrets management, logging, systems, hardening, API management, web application security, network security and segmentation.
• Ability to work on quickly moving projects providing both verbal and written input is essential.
• Flexibility to work on any aspect of security from design to hands on is essential.
• The client operates with Cyber Essentials Plus and the Government Cyber Resilience Framework.
• Experience picking up and assessing new systems is essential.

Desirable skills (where appropriate)

• Threat Modelling experience such as STRIDE would be beneficial.
