Calculations Analyst

Our Financial Services client is looking for a highly skilled Calculations Analyst to join their Edinburgh based team for a 6 months initial contract.

This Role falls OUTSIDE IR35

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We specify, test, and implement changes to illustration systems, policy administration calculations, databases and rates tables. In addition support is provided for the maintenance of these systems and databases and we are also involved in remediation of customers policies.

Calculations Analysts provide information and technical support to a range of internal and external customers.

you'll work as part of a team to analyse, specify, test and implement changes to the quotation systems, policy administration systems and online services that are key to the functioning of the company. You will also provide technical support to a range of internal and external customers.

Essential

• Excellent & proven analytical skills.
• Excellent numerical ability / Higher Maths.
• Good planning and organisation skills.
• Excellent communication skills
• Good team player
• Capability and willingness to gain knowledge of PC applications, such as Word, Excel, Access and Visual Basic, and their more complex functionality.
• The ability to work unsupervised.

Desirable

• A university degree in Mathematics or a related discipline, e.g Statistics.
• Proven analysis experience and successful delivery on time and on budget of multiple projects.
• A good working knowledge of Standard Life's Life and / or Pension products and Standard Life's Systems.
• Knowledge of FCA rules and other legislation governing Life and Pension products.
